About bilddit.
Built by someone who spent fifteen years losing afternoons to it.
bilddit. started with a project manager doing his own team's supply runs so they could stay on the tools. It is now an app that does the same job across merchant partners, at a scale one man in a van could not.
One missing fitting can cost you the afternoon.
Leaving site means traffic, a queue, no parking, and coming back to a job that has gone cold. The part is rarely the expensive bit. The trip to fetch it is. bilddit. was built so the part travels instead of the tradesperson.
Words from our founder
Punit Majithia
Founder & CEO
Hi, I'm Punit Majithia, founder of bilddit. Thanks for visiting - I'd love to tell you about our journey.
I was a construction project manager for 15 years and ran my own business. In that time I learnt a lot about the trade industry, and the aches of managing a large workforce. Every job is different, and with a huge UK parts landscape, knowing what is needed for every job is not always possible. Every day my team and I could spend two hours or more shopping, queuing, driving and hunting for parking - sometimes for just one small part. I was not alone. Everyone in the industry feels this.
That inconvenience creates inefficient workforces, lost revenue and a lot of headaches. I wanted my team focused on the job, not on supply runs, so I started doing the runs myself while they stayed on site. Acting as a personal shopper, I noticed jobs finishing faster - and customers noticing too.
I was onto something: on-demand deliveries for tradespeople, more billable hours, smoother operations, and happier end customers. bilddit. was born.

Three groups, one bottleneck.
A supply run costs all of them something. It just costs each of them something different.
Tradespeople
The part turns up while you carry on working. Nobody downs tools to go and queue for it.
- More of the day stays billable
- Search by name, spec, MPN or a photo of the part in your hand
- One basket, even when the stock sits across merchants
- Jobs close on the first visit more often
Merchant partners
Trade demand within a few miles of your branch, served from the stock already sitting on your shelf.
- Incremental orders without a consumer brand to build
- Fulfil from existing shelf stock, no new catalogue
- Couriers booked and managed by us
- The right vehicle matched to the load
The people paying the bill
The householder or site manager waiting on the repair. They mostly notice when it does not happen twice.
- The fix lands on the first appointment
- Fewer rebooked visits around someone's working week
- Less waiting in for a second engineer
A run to the counter and back can swallow two hours of a working day. We would rather that time stayed on the job. What we will not do is quote a catalogue total as if every line were sitting in a warehouse we own. Availability is checked live, per order, in the app.
How an order actually moves.
Three steps for you. Rather more than three behind the glass.
- 01
You order
Search by photo, MPN, spec or the name your trade actually uses. Stock is checked live before you pay, so the basket reflects what can really reach you.
- 02
We pick a branch
The system weighs which nearby merchants hold the stock, what it costs and how far it has to travel, then hands the order to one of them to pick.
- 03
A courier runs it out
Immediately where the stock and the vehicle allow, or in a booked one-hour window up to 30 days ahead. Bike, car or van, matched to the load.
What we are not.
Not another merchant website
A merchant's website can only sell you what that merchant has. We look across partners, so being out of stock in one branch is not the end of your afternoon.
Not a quote board
Nothing here asks you to post a job and wait for someone to come back to you. You order what is actually available and get on with it.
Not in the advice business
We supply materials. We do not tell you what to fit, how to fit it, or whether it is safe. That is your trade, your certification and your call.
Honest about timing
We could put a faster number on the homepage. Instead the app checks live stock and shows you a real ETA, and that is the only timing we ask you to hold us to.
Stop driving for parts.
Get the app on the van phone, or talk to us about business accounts and merchant partnerships.
Business or merchant?
Teams that order across sites, or merchants with shelf stock nearby - both start with a short enquiry.
